Sprint and Shuttle Drill for Seton Hall Prep Pirates S Players

๐Ÿ“ Seton Hall Prep PiratesยทThursday, July 2, 2026ยทFridayNightPulse Insider

As the Seton Hall Prep Pirates prepare for the Non-Public A season, S players must be ready to cover receivers and tight ends in space. A key drill to improve their speed and agility is the sprint and shuttle combo. Set up two cones 5 yards apart, with a third cone 10 yards away from the first two. Players start at the first cone, sprint to the third cone, then immediately shuttle back to the second cone. Perform 3 sets of 10 reps, resting for 30 seconds between sets. Coaching cues include: 'Fast feet, fast feet' on the sprint, and 'Quick turn, quick turn' on the shuttle. This drill translates to game performance by allowing S players to quickly change direction and cover receivers in tight spaces, making them a valuable asset to the Pirates' defense.
