Crusader Corner: S Player Agility Drill for Non-Public A Success

๐Ÿ“ Bergen Catholic CrusadersยทSaturday, July 4, 2026ยทFridayNightPulse Insider

At Bergen Catholic Crusaders, our secondary units are built on speed, agility, and reaction time. To improve these traits, we've developed a drill that targets the S players' ability to change direction quickly and cover ground. The 'L-Cut Shuttle' drill consists of 3 sets of 5 reps. Players start at the 5-yard line, then perform an L-cut (45-degree cut) to the sideline, followed by a 5-yard shuttle run back to the start. Coaching cues include 'keep your eyes on the target' and 'drive through the cut.' This drill translates to game performance by improving our S players' ability to stay with receivers on out routes and quickly close gaps on deep passes.
