Malik Taylor: Crusading Back to the Top
Bergen Catholic Crusaders quarterback Malik Taylor threw for 2,345 yards and 25 touchdowns in his junior season, but that was before a season-ending ACL injury in the state championship game. Now, after a year of rehabilitation and hard work, Taylor is back and ready to lead the Crusaders to another Non-Public A title. The Class of 2026 signal-caller has been impressive in summer camp, displaying a strong arm and quick decision-making skills. Taylor's ability to extend plays with his feet and make accurate throws on the run has scouts taking notice. "He's got a great feel for the game," said one college recruiter. "He's a true leader and a winner." Taylor's ACL injury was a setback, but it also gave him a chance to refine his game and develop a stronger work ethic. "It was tough, but it made me hungry," Taylor said. "I'm not just playing for myself, I'm playing for my teammates and my coaches." Scouts are watching to see how Taylor adapts to the increased defensive attention he'll receive this season, as well as his ability to distribute the ball to his talented receiving corps.
