Crusader Rush: A High-Intensity Drill for RBs at Non-Public A Programs
At Bergen Catholic Crusaders, our RBs are gearing up for a dominant season with a high-intensity drill that simulates game-like scenarios. The 'Crusader Rush' drill involves 3 sets of 10 reps, with a 30-second rest between sets. Players start in a 3-point stance, then explosively sprint 10 yards, planting their outside foot and quickly changing direction to accelerate 5 yards to the left, before cutting back to the right and finishing with a 5-yard dash to the end zone. Coaching cues include 'explosive start,' 'quick feet,' and 'aggressive finish.' This drill translates to game performance by improving RBs' ability to quickly change direction, accelerate, and finish plays in tight spaces. By incorporating the Crusader Rush into their pre-season training, RBs can gain a competitive edge and dominate on the field.
