The Cibola Cougars, a 6A program from Albuquerque, marked a major milestone Friday with the groundbreaking of a $2 million facility upgrade. The project, set to be completed in time for the upcoming season, will feature state-of-the-art locker rooms, a renovated weight room and a new video analysis suite. The upgrade is expected to give the Cougars a competitive edge in the highly competitive 6A classification, where they have struggled to find consistency in recent years. With a 4-6 record in 2025, the Cougars are looking to rebuild and make a push for the playoffs. The facility upgrade is also expected to help in recruiting efforts, as the program looks to attract top talent from the Albuquerque area.
