Isaiah Thomas Commits to SMU
Centennial Hawks safety Isaiah Thomas, a Class of 2027 standout, has committed to Southern Methodist University. The 6-foot-1, 180-pound prospect chose SMU due to the Mustangs' 3-3-5 defensive scheme, which aligns with his athletic abilities. Thomas projects as a key contributor in the secondary, potentially filling a void at free safety. He also cited SMU's strong academic program and research opportunities as a major factor in his decision. Thomas had previously committed to the University of New Mexico but decommitted in May after re-evaluating his options. The Centennial Hawks' safety has impressed scouts with his range, ball skills and tackling ability, showcasing his potential to make an impact at the next level. Thomas will join the SMU roster in the fall of 2027, concluding a successful prep career with the Hawks.
