Malik Anderson Commits to Kansas State
La Cueva Bears running back Malik Anderson, a Class of 2026 standout, has committed to Kansas State University. Anderson, a 6-foot, 180-pound back, chose the Wildcats after a thorough evaluation of the program's strengths. Kansas State's offense, which features a potent combination of run and pass, aligns with Anderson's skill set. The depth chart at running back is expected to be highly competitive, but Anderson's speed and elusiveness make him an attractive addition. Additionally, Kansas State's academic reputation and strong support services for student-athletes were key factors in Anderson's decision. Anderson had previously committed to the University of New Mexico, but decommitted in April to explore other options. The Bears will look to replace Anderson's production in the backfield this fall. With 1,200 yards and 12 touchdowns in his sophomore season, Anderson is one of the top prospects in the state.
