Centennial Hawks Promote Assistant to Coordinator Role
The Centennial Hawks announced Friday the promotion of assistant coach Ryan Jenkins to defensive coordinator. Jenkins spent four seasons developing talent on the Hawks' defensive line, helping the team improve its overall performance. As a coordinator, Jenkins will oversee the defense and work closely with head coach Mark Sanchez to implement a new strategy. The Hawks, a 6A program in Las Cruces, have struggled in recent years, posting a 12-20 record over the past two seasons. The promotion is seen as a key move in the team's rebuilding efforts, particularly in recruiting. With Jenkins at the helm, the Hawks hope to attract top defensive talent and improve their chances of competing in the highly competitive District 3-6A. The team begins summer camp next week, with the season opener set for late August.
