QB Quick Release Drill for 6A Programs
As the summer heat intensifies, 6A quarterbacks at Centennial Hawks and other top programs are honing their skills with a critical drill that translates to game performance: the Quick Release Drill. This drill focuses on developing a smooth, accurate release under pressure. Set up 3-4 receivers at various depths, each with a numbered cone. QBs will start at the 10-yard line and must release the ball within 3 seconds of the snap. After each rep, they'll move to the next cone, increasing the distance. Coaches will provide real-time feedback on footwork, follow-through, and ball placement. Aim for 3 sets of 10 reps, resting 30 seconds between sets. This drill simulates game situations, where QBs must quickly read defenses and release the ball to their receivers. By mastering the Quick Release Drill, Centennial Hawks' QBs will be better equipped to succeed in the high-stakes 6A competition.
