Speed and Agility for 6A S Players: The L-Curve Drill

๐Ÿ“ La Cueva BearsยทThursday, July 30, 2026ยทFridayNightPulse Insider

La Cueva Bears' S players can expect to see significant improvements in their speed and agility with the L-Curve drill. This drill is designed to challenge players' ability to change direction quickly and explosively. To set up the drill, create an L-shaped course using cones or markers. Players will start at the top of the L and perform a 5-yard dash to the first cone, then immediately change direction and perform a 5-yard shuttle to the second cone. They will then repeat the process, changing direction again to return to the starting point. Perform 3 sets of 10 reps, resting for 30 seconds between sets. Coaching cues include 'quick feet' and 'explosive acceleration.' This drill translates to game performance by allowing S players to quickly close gaps and make tackles in pursuit of the ball.
