Jaguars' RB Drill: Explosive Acceleration
Desert Pines Jaguars' running backs are gearing up for the upcoming season with a focus on explosive acceleration. To improve their speed and agility, the Jaguars will be running the 'Pro Agility Shuttle' drill. This drill involves setting up four cones in a zig-zag pattern, with the first and last cones 5 yards apart. The RB starts at the first cone, then weaves through the course, focusing on quick changes of direction and explosive acceleration. Sets: 3-4, Reps: 3-5, Rest: 30 seconds. Coaching cues: 'Keep your eyes up, stay low, and explode out of the cut.' This drill translates to game performance by improving the RB's ability to quickly change direction and accelerate out of cuts, making them a more elusive and effective runner. The Jaguars will be incorporating this drill into their summer training program, aiming to improve their RB's speed and agility by the start of the season.
