Jordan Johnson Commits to Texas Tech

๐Ÿ“ Erasmus Hall DutchmenยทTuesday, July 7, 2026ยทFridayNightPulse Insider

Erasmus Hall Dutchmen safety Jordan Johnson has committed to play for the Texas Tech Red Raiders. Johnson, a Class of 2026 prospect, chose the Big 12 program over other Division I offers. The 6-foot-1, 190-pound safety is expected to fit into Texas Tech's aggressive defensive scheme, which emphasizes speed and athleticism. Johnson's commitment fills a need at safety for the Red Raiders, who are looking to rebuild their secondary. He will have the opportunity to compete for a starting role immediately, given the team's current depth chart. Johnson was also considering offers from other Big 12 schools, but ultimately chose Texas Tech for its strong academic program and coaching staff. Johnson had previously committed to another program but decommitted earlier this year to explore other options.
