FridayNightPulse: Long Island Lutheran Crusaders LB Drill

๐Ÿ“ Long Island Lutheran CrusadersยทSaturday, July 11, 2026ยทFridayNightPulse Insider

This summer, AA programs like Long Island Lutheran Crusaders are focusing on developing their linebackers' agility and reaction time through a specific drill. The 'L-Shape Shuffle' drill involves setting up two cones 5 yards apart in an 'L' shape, with a third cone 10 yards away from the starting point. Players start at the starting point, shuffle through the 'L' shape, and then react to a coach's whistle by shuffling back to the starting point. Perform 3 sets of 10 reps, resting 30 seconds between sets. Coaching cues include 'quick feet' and 'stay low.' This drill translates to game performance by improving a linebacker's ability to quickly close gaps and react to ball carriers. It also enhances their agility and speed in tight spaces.
