FridayNightPulse: Springfield Wildcats LB Drill - 'Boxer Stance Shuffle'

๐Ÿ“ Springfield WildcatsยทWednesday, July 8, 2026ยทFridayNightPulse Insider

This drill targets the agility and reaction time of Linebackers at Div II programs like the Springfield Wildcats. Set up 5x5 boxes with cones, spaced 5 yards apart. Players start in a boxer stance, feet shoulder-width apart, with their dominant foot forward. On the whistle, they shuffle to the next box, then immediately back to the starting point. Perform 3 sets of 10 reps, resting 30 seconds between sets. Coaching cues: 'Keep your weight light, shuffle feet, and eyes on the next box.' This drill translates to game performance by improving reaction time and quick changes of direction, essential for LBs to stay with ball carriers and cover receivers.
