Hunter Smith Commits to Houston Football
St. Edward Eagles kicker Hunter Smith, a Class of 2027 standout, has committed to Houston football. The 6-foot-2, 180-pound specialist chose the Cougars over offers from Ohio State, Michigan State and Purdue. Smith's decision comes after a productive summer camp stint with Houston, where he showcased his leg strength and accuracy on field goal attempts. The Eagles' kicker believes Houston's up-tempo offense will be a good fit for his skills, and he's excited about the opportunity to contribute immediately. Smith will join a Cougars program that returns several key players on special teams. He was previously committed to Ohio State but reopened his recruitment in April after a coaching change. Smith's commitment to Houston brings the Cougars' 2027 recruiting class to 10 members.
