Speed Separation Drill for Wayne Warriors WRs

๐Ÿ“ Wayne WarriorsยทMonday, July 27, 2026ยทFridayNightPulse Insider

This summer, Wayne Warriors wide receivers can take their game to the next level with the speed separation drill. Designed to improve route running and get-off speed, this drill is perfect for Div I programs like the Warriors. Set up three cones in a zig-zag pattern, 5 yards apart. Have each receiver start at the first cone, then sprint to the second cone, making a sharp cut to the left or right. From there, they'll sprint to the third cone, making another sharp cut. Perform 3 sets of 10 reps, resting for 30 seconds between sets. Coaching cues include 'eyes on the target' and 'explosive first step.' This drill translates to game performance by allowing receivers to develop the speed and agility needed to separate from defenders and create separation on the field.
