DeShawn Davis Commits to SMU
Massillon, OH - DeShawn Davis, a 2025 defensive end from Massillon Washington High School, has committed to play football at Southern Methodist University. The 6-foot-4, 220-pound prospect chose SMU over other Division I offers, citing the Mustangs' 3-4 defensive scheme as a key factor in his decision. Davis believes the program's depth chart will allow him to contribute immediately, potentially starting as a freshman. Academically, he was drawn to SMU's strong business program, which aligns with his future career goals. Davis had previously committed to another program but reopened his recruitment in April. He will attend SMU's summer football camp in July to get a head start on his college career. Davis is the second commit in the Class of 2025 for the Mustangs.
