Malik Smith Commits to Iowa State
Massillon Tigers safety Malik Smith, a Class of 2025 standout, has committed to Iowa State University. The 6-foot-1, 180-pound Smith chose the Cyclones over offers from Toledo and Kent State. Smith's decision to commit to Iowa State is largely due to the program's fit with his athletic abilities. The Cyclones' defense employs a multiple-front scheme, which aligns with Smith's skills as a versatile safety. Additionally, Smith is expected to contribute immediately, as Iowa State's secondary is expected to undergo significant turnover. The university's academic programs, including its renowned agricultural and engineering departments, also played a factor in Smith's decision. Smith previously held a commitment to Ohio State but decommitted in June. He is expected to enroll at Iowa State in the fall of 2025 and participate in the program's summer camp.
