Marcus Smith Commits to Baylor
Jesuit Crusaders quarterback Marcus Smith has committed to Baylor University. The Class of 2025 standout chose the Bears due to their pro-style offense, which aligns with his skills and playing style. Smith also cited the opportunity to compete for the starting quarterback position as a factor in his decision. Baylor's academic program, which offers a strong business and engineering curriculum, was another draw for the Jesuit student-athlete. Smith, a 6-foot-2, 190-pound quarterback, threw for 2,500 yards and 25 touchdowns as a junior. He was previously committed to Oregon State, but decommitted in May to explore other options. Baylor's coaching staff and academic support staff made a strong impression on Smith during his official visit. He is expected to enroll at Baylor in the fall of 2025.
