Crushing the Competition: Jesuit Crusaders' 6A OL Drill
The Jesuit Crusaders' 6A OL program is gearing up for another dominant season. To prepare their linemen for the gridiron, Coach Thompson has implemented a game-changing drill that targets footwork, agility, and strength. The 'OL Shuffle Drill' involves three sets of 10 reps each, with a 30-second rest between sets. Players start in a 3-point stance, then shuffle their feet 5 yards to the left, 5 yards to the right, and back to the starting position. Coaching cues include 'quick feet, light feet' and 'keep your eyes on the target.' This drill translates to game performance by improving OL's ability to react quickly to defensive schemes and maintain their position in the trenches. By incorporating the OL Shuffle Drill into their pre-season training, Jesuit's linemen will be ready to take on the competition.
