DeShawn Young Commits to Baylor
Jesuit Crusaders running back DeShawn Young has committed to Baylor University. The Class of 2026 standout chose the Bears over other Power Five offers from Oregon and Utah. Young's commitment comes after a successful summer camp circuit, where he showcased his versatility as a dual-threat back. Baylor's scheme, which features a mix of zone and man coverage, aligns with Young's skills as a receiver out of the backfield. The Bears' depth chart at running back is open, providing Young with an opportunity to compete for playing time early in his career. Baylor's academic program, which offers a range of business and engineering courses, also appealed to Young. He previously held offers from Oregon State and Washington State before decommitting in May. Young's commitment to Baylor marks a significant addition to the Bears' 2026 recruiting class.
