Jesuit Crusaders Promote Assistant Coach to Coordinator Role
The Jesuit Crusaders football program announced Friday the promotion of assistant coach Ryan Thompson to defensive coordinator. Thompson, who joined the staff in 2023, has spent the past three seasons developing the team's defensive unit. During his tenure, the Crusaders have improved their overall defensive performance, culminating in a 2025 season that saw them allow an average of 17.8 points per game. As defensive coordinator, Thompson will oversee the development of the team's defensive scheme and game plan. The promotion is expected to have a significant impact on the team's recruiting efforts, as Thompson's reputation as a defensive specialist is likely to attract top talent. The Crusaders, a 6A program from Portland, are looking to build on their recent success and compete for a state championship in 2026.
