West Linn Lions Linebacker Drill: 'Boxer Stance' Agility Ladder

๐Ÿ“ West Linn LionsยทFriday, July 24, 2026ยทFridayNightPulse Insider

To improve agility, reaction time, and speed, West Linn Lions linebackers will focus on the 'Boxer Stance' agility ladder drill. Set up a ladder on the field with 5-7 feet between each rung. Players will start in a standard stance, then place their outside foot in the first rung, keeping their knee bent at a 90-degree angle. They will then quickly switch to the next rung, mimicking a boxer's stance, and repeat for 3 sets of 10 reps. Coaching cues include 'quick feet' and 'stay low.' This drill translates to game performance by improving a linebacker's ability to quickly change direction and stay balanced in tight spaces, making them more effective in pass coverage and pursuit of the ball.
