QB Quick Release Drill for Jesuit Crusaders

๐Ÿ“ Jesuit CrusadersยทTuesday, July 28, 2026ยทFridayNightPulse Insider

The Jesuit Crusaders' quarterback coach has devised a drill to improve quick release and accuracy. The 'Flash Flick' drill consists of 3 sets of 10 reps, with a 30-second rest between sets. Players start in a shotgun stance, 5 yards deep. On the coach's signal, they drop back 3 steps, plant their back foot, and release a pass to a receiver 10 yards downfield. The twist: the receiver is moving at a 45-degree angle, simulating a crossing route. Coaching cues include 'Snap, Drop, Flick' and 'Follow through, follow through.' This drill translates to game performance by replicating the pressure and timing required for quick releases. It also improves accuracy on crossing routes, a common threat in 6A football.
