Rams QBs: Master the 'Quick Release' Drill for Game-Day Success

๐Ÿ“ Central Catholic RamsยทFriday, July 31, 2026ยทFridayNightPulse Insider

Quarterbacks at 6A programs like Central Catholic Rams need to be precise and efficient in their passing game. To improve their quick release, Rams QBs will focus on the 'Quick Release' drill. Set up five stations with a target (e.g., a small square on the wall or a balloon) at each. Divide the QBs into groups of three. At each station, have one QB throw a pass to a receiver while the other two QBs practice their quick release. Each QB will throw 3 sets of 10 reps with a 30-second rest between sets. Coaching cues include: 'Snap, set, release' and 'Focus on your target.' This drill translates to game performance by allowing QBs to develop muscle memory for quick releases, reducing decision time and improving accuracy.
