Unlock Tight End Potential with Imhotep Charter's Summer Drill
At Imhotep Charter Panthers, tight end development is a top priority. To improve their blocking and receiving skills, the coaching staff has implemented a summer drill that targets footwork and hand placement. The 'TE Box Drill' involves setting up a 5x5 foot grid with cones and having tight ends start in the center. On the coach's signal, they must quickly move to one corner of the grid, plant their outside foot, and explode to the adjacent corner, all while maintaining a tight, compact body position. Perform 3 sets of 10 reps, focusing on quick footwork and proper hand placement. This drill translates to game performance by improving tight ends' ability to quickly release and seal defenders, creating opportunities for big plays. It also enhances their agility and reaction time, allowing them to stay one step ahead of the competition.
