Unleashing the Beast: Coatesville DEs' Summer Training Tip

๐Ÿ“ Coatesville Red RaidersยทFriday, July 17, 2026ยทFridayNightPulse Insider

As the Red Raiders prepare for another dominant 6A season, defensive ends must be ready to wreak havoc on opposing offenses. One key drill to add to your summer training regimen is the 'Rush and Recover' series. Set up a series of 3-5 cones in a zig-zag pattern, 10 yards apart. DEs will start at the first cone, sprint to the second, and immediately change direction to the third. They'll repeat this pattern, focusing on explosive acceleration, sharp cuts, and rapid recovery. Aim for 3 sets of 10 reps, with 30 seconds rest between sets. Coaching cues: 'Fast feet, quick hands!' and 'Recover, recover, recover!' This drill translates to game performance by improving DEs' ability to chase down ball carriers and quickly get back to their stance, allowing for more plays and less fatigue. By mastering the 'Rush and Recover' series, Coatesville DEs will be unstoppable this fall.
