Navigating Unofficial Visits as a High School Prospect
As a top-ranked 5A prospect, you're likely to receive multiple invitations to unofficial visits from college programs. To make a lasting impression and maximize your recruiting experience, follow these guidelines. First, research the program thoroughly, including their coaching staff, facilities and academic support. Next, arrive prepared with a list of questions and a portfolio of your achievements. During the visit, be respectful of the coaches' time and engage in meaningful conversations. For example, ask about the team's strengths and weaknesses, and how you can contribute to their success. Aim to spend at least 30 minutes discussing your academic and athletic goals. Finally, be sure to follow up with a thank-you note or email within 24 hours of the visit. This will demonstrate your professionalism and enthusiasm for the program.
