DeShawn Thomas Commits to Kansas State
North Kingstown Skippers quarterback DeShawn Thomas has committed to Kansas State University. The Class of 2027 signal-caller chose the Wildcats over offers from Coastal Carolina and Rhode Island. Thomas said Kansas State's pro-style offense aligns with his skills and playing style. He also cited the program's strong quarterback depth chart and the opportunity to compete for a starting role. Additionally, Thomas was impressed by the university's academic programs, particularly the College of Engineering. Thomas had previously committed to the University of Rhode Island in February 2024 but decommitted in March 2025 to explore other options. He plans to enroll at Kansas State in the fall of 2027 and will have three years of eligibility remaining. Thomas is a 6-foot-2, 190-pound quarterback who has been a key contributor for the Skippers, throwing for over 1,000 yards as a sophomore.
