Lakewood Gators Break Ground on $3M Facility Upgrade

The Lakewood Gators, a 4A program from Sumter, South Carolina, have officially broken ground on a $3 million facility upgrade. The project, set to be completed in time for the upcoming season, will feature state-of-the-art locker rooms, a renovated weight room and a new turf field. The upgrade is expected to give the Gators a competitive edge in the SCHSL 4A division, where they have struggled in recent years, posting a 5-7 record in 2025. The new facilities will also serve as a major recruiting tool, allowing the program to attract top talent from across the state.
