Unleashing the Beast: Lakewood Gators' LB Drill for 4A Dominance

๐Ÿ“ Lakewood GatorsยทMonday, July 13, 2026ยทFridayNightPulse Insider

This summer, Lakewood Gators linebackers will be putting in the work with a grueling drill designed to improve their speed, agility, and tackling prowess. The 'L-Bomb' drill consists of 3 sets of 10 reps, with 30 seconds rest in between sets. Players will start in a 3-point stance, then explosively jump to their feet and sprint 10 yards downfield. Upon reaching the target, they'll quickly change direction and tackle a bag or a teammate. Coaching cues include 'Fast feet, fast hands' and 'Tackle with eyes up.' This drill translates to game performance by simulating the quick changes of direction and speed that linebackers face on the field. By mastering the L-Bomb, Lakewood's LBs will be ready to take on the best of 4A.
