As the University Interscholastic League's flag football pilot program expands to new districts in Texas, the Gaffney Indians are poised to capitalize on emerging scholarship pathways. The program's growth has sparked interest among top NAIA and NCAA Division I schools, including Ottawa University, Kansas, and the University of Nebraska, which will launch its inaugural 2028 season with coaches Liz and Katie Sowers. Gaffney players can now focus on securing spots at these programs, which offer up to 12 scholarships at Ottawa University and are actively recruiting at Keiser University, Florida, and Midland University, Nebraska. Meanwhile, UT Arlington is developing its program, though scholarships have not yet been announced.
