DeShawn Smith, a Class of 2025 cornerback from Brandon Valley High School, has committed to play football at the United States Air Force Academy. Smith, a 5-foot-10, 170-pound defensive back, chose the Falcons over offers from South Dakota State and North Dakota State. The Brandon Valley Lynx, a perennial power in South Dakota's Class 11AA, will look to replace Smith's playmaking ability in the secondary. Smith's commitment to Air Force comes after a strong showing at the Falcons' summer camp, where he impressed coaches with his speed and agility. The Air Force defense, which runs a 3-4 scheme, will provide Smith with a chance to develop his skills in a position that will be crucial to the team's success. Smith's commitment is a significant pickup for the Falcons' secondary, which will look to add depth and talent in the coming years.
