Rough Riders' Wilson Aims High on and off Field
Roosevelt Rough Riders quarterback Austin Wilson threw for 2,517 yards and 22 touchdowns as an 11-man Class AA South Dakota high school sophomore in 2024. Now a junior, Wilson is balancing varsity starter duties with a 4.0 GPA, setting a high standard for himself and his teammates. Wilson credits his academic focus to a strong support system at home and a desire to secure a top college scholarship. He is being courted by several Division I programs and is expected to make a decision by the end of the summer. Wilson's off-field dedication has not compromised his on-field performance, as he continues to hone his skills through summer camps and private coaching sessions. Scouts are watching to see how Wilson adapts to the physical demands of the upcoming season and whether he can maintain his impressive passing numbers while also taking on a more prominent leadership role on the team.
