Brandon Valley Lynx CBs: Master the 'Shadow Shuffle' Drill

๐Ÿ“ Brandon Valley LynxยทFriday, July 10, 2026ยทFridayNightPulse Insider

This summer, 11AA cornerbacks can elevate their game with the 'Shadow Shuffle' drill. Designed to improve reaction time, agility, and coverage skills, this drill is a must-have for any Lynx CB looking to dominate on the gridiron. To run the drill, set up four cones in a square formation, with one cone 5 yards from each corner. Players start at the top cone, shuffling their feet to the next cone while maintaining a 3-yard shadow of a defender (coach or teammate). Perform 3 sets of 10 reps, focusing on quick feet and staying in phase with the defender. Coaching cues: 'Shadow, shadow, stay on their hip!' and 'Quick feet, quick feet, don't get caught!' This drill translates to game performance by teaching CBs to stay in coverage, react to the ball, and make plays on the ball. By mastering the 'Shadow Shuffle,' Brandon Valley Lynx CBs will be ready to take on the best of the state.
