Pierre Governors OLs: Master the 'Anchor and Punch' Drill for Dominant Play
This summer, Pierre Governors OLs can take their game to the next level with the 'Anchor and Punch' drill. This essential exercise targets footwork, hand placement, and overall technique. To execute the drill, OLs will start in a three-point stance with their feet shoulder-width apart. On the coach's signal, they will 'anchor' their back foot, keeping it firm on the ground, while punching the ground with their front foot. The drill consists of 3 sets of 10 reps, with a 30-second rest in between. Coaching cues include 'drive through the ground' and 'keep your back foot anchored.' This drill translates to game performance by improving OLs' ability to maintain balance and generate power in their blocks. By mastering the 'Anchor and Punch' drill, Governors OLs will be well-prepared to take on the competition this fall.
