Speed and Agility for the Harrisburg Tigers: 3-Step Shuttle Drill

๐Ÿ“ Harrisburg TigersยทMonday, July 20, 2026ยทFridayNightPulse Insider

As the Harrisburg Tigers prepare for the 2026 season, speed and agility drills are crucial for their 11AA success. One effective drill for S players is the 3-Step Shuttle. This drill improves acceleration, deceleration, and change of direction, translating to game performance in pursuit of receivers and ball carriers. To run the drill, set up three cones in a zigzag pattern, 5 yards apart. Have players start at one end, then: step 1, drive 3 yards to the first cone, step 2, quickly change direction and drive 3 yards to the second cone, step 3, rapidly change direction again and drive 3 yards to the third cone. Repeat for 3 sets of 10 reps. Coaching cues include 'explosive acceleration,' 'quick feet,' and 'aggressive change of direction.' This drill will help the Tigers' S players stay one step ahead of their opponents.
