Route Running Mastery: A 6A WR Drill for Maryville Rebels

๐Ÿ“ Maryville RebelsยทSaturday, July 4, 2026ยทFridayNightPulse Insider

This summer, Maryville Rebels WRs can refine their route running skills with a high-intensity drill. Set up three stations: 'Quick Slant,' 'Deep Out,' and 'Post.' At each station, have a WR start at the line of scrimmage and sprint 5 yards before cutting sharply to the designated route. Perform 3 sets of 10 reps at each station. Coaching cues: 'Quick feet, eyes on the defender, and a sharp cut.' This drill translates to game performance by improving WRs' ability to separate from defenders and create separation. It also enhances their agility and acceleration. To increase difficulty, add a defender at each station to mirror the WR's every move. This drill is essential for 6A programs like Maryville Rebels, where WRs need to be precise and explosive to succeed.
