Marcus Jackson Commits to Baylor
Brentwood Academy kicker Marcus Jackson has committed to Baylor University, the Eagles' Class of 2026 standout announced Friday. Jackson, a 6-foot-2, 190-pound specialist, chose the Big 12 program after considering several Power Five offers. Baylor's kicking game will benefit from Jackson's strong leg, which has been clocked at 55 yards in the air. The Bears' new coaching staff has also shown a willingness to utilize high-performing kickers in a variety of game situations. Jackson will have the opportunity to compete for a starting role immediately, as Baylor's current depth chart lists a returning starter but no other established kickers. The Baylor academic program, which features a strong engineering department, also appealed to Jackson, who plans to study computer science. Jackson previously held a commitment to Vanderbilt but decommitted in February to explore other options.
