Whitehaven Promotes Assistant to Coordinator Role

Whitehaven High School in Memphis has promoted assistant coach Marcus Johnson to defensive coordinator. Johnson spent the past three seasons developing the Tigers' defensive line, helping the team improve its pass rush and overall defensive performance. In that time, Whitehaven went 24-8, including a 12-2 mark in 2024. The Tigers are classified as a 6A program and are perennial contenders for the state championship. Johnson's promotion is expected to boost the team's recruiting efforts, as top defensive prospects are likely to take notice of the Tigers' revamped defense.
