FridayNightPulse Training Tip: Oakland Patriots LB Drill

๐Ÿ“ Oakland PatriotsยทMonday, July 20, 2026ยทFridayNightPulse Insider

At 6A programs like the Oakland Patriots, linebackers need to be prepared to handle a high volume of plays and opponents. One drill that can help improve their speed, agility, and reaction time is the 'Ladder Shuttle'. This drill involves setting up a ladder on the field and having the linebacker perform a series of shuttle runs through the ladder. Start with 3 sets of 10 reps, focusing on quick footwork and changing direction rapidly. Coaching cues include 'quick feet' and 'stay low'. This drill translates to game performance by improving the linebacker's ability to read and react to plays, as well as their ability to pursue and tackle ball carriers. Incorporate this drill into your offseason training to give your linebackers a competitive edge.
