Michigan Extends Offer to 2027 DE Elijah Young of Whitehaven Tigers
The University of Michigan has extended a scholarship offer to Elijah Young, a rising junior defensive end from Whitehaven High School in Memphis. Young, who stands 6-foot-4 and weighs 235 pounds, has been a dominant force on the Tigers' defensive line, recording 44 tackles and 12 sacks in his sophomore season. He has also drawn attention from other top programs, including Alabama, Georgia and Tennessee. Young's offer list has grown significantly in recent months, with other Power Five schools such as LSU, Florida and Auburn also expressing interest. As the 2027 recruiting cycle heats up, Young is expected to be one of the top defensive prospects in the state of Tennessee. With his impressive size, speed and athleticism, Young is poised to make a significant impact on the gridiron this fall. Young is expected to attend Michigan's summer camp in July, where he will get a chance to showcase his skills in front of the Wolverines' coaching staff.
