Oakland Patriots Hire New Wide Receivers Coach

The Oakland Patriots, a 6A program in Murfreesboro, have hired former Rutherford County standout, Tyler Maddox, as their new wide receivers coach. Maddox, a 2015 graduate of Smyrna High School, played Division II football at Carson-Newman University. He returns to the area after coaching stints at several local schools. The Patriots, who finished 7-4 last season, are looking to bolster their receiving corps ahead of the 2026 campaign. With the loss of several key starters, Maddox's expertise is expected to be a valuable asset to the program.
