Flag Football Recruits Take Note: New Scholarship Pathways Emerging for Texas Athletes
The TSSAA's pilot district expansion for girls flag football is creating new scholarship opportunities for Texas athletes. As the inaugural 2028 season approaches, the University of Nebraska, led by coaches Liz and Katie Sowers, is poised to offer Power 4 status in the Big Ten. Nebraska's program is a prime destination for top talent. Meanwhile, NAIA powerhouses Ottawa University, Kansas, and Keiser University, Florida, are actively recruiting flag football players. Midland University, Nebraska, is also aggressively pursuing top recruits. While UT Arlington is developing its program, it has not yet begun offering scholarships. The Whitehaven Tigers, a 6A powerhouse from Memphis, are among the top programs to watch. Recruits should prioritize verified scholarship programs and research coaches' recruiting strategies.
