DeSoto Eagles Girls Flag Football Players Eye New Scholarship Opportunities Amid UIL Pilot District Expansion
The UIL's expansion of its flag football pilot district program is poised to create new scholarship pathways for Texas high school athletes, particularly those from the DeSoto Eagles. With the University of Nebraska, Ottawa University, Kansas, Keiser University, Florida, and Midland University, Nebraska, actively recruiting flag football talent, DeSoto Eagles players can now focus on securing a spot in these programs. The University of Nebraska, led by coaches Liz and Katie Sowers, will launch its inaugural NCAA Division 1 flag football season in 2028. Meanwhile, Ottawa University, Kansas, offers up to 12 NAIA scholarships. Keiser University, Florida, and Midland University, Nebraska, are also actively recruiting. As the UIL's pilot district expansion takes shape, DeSoto Eagles players are advised to research and reach out to these schools to explore their scholarship opportunities.
