Darius Moore Commits to University of Houston
Gunter Tigers linebacker Darius Moore has committed to the University of Houston for the Class of 2025. Moore, a 3A standout, chose the Cougars over other Power Five offers. The 6-foot-2, 220-pound linebacker is expected to fit into Houston's 4-2-5 scheme, where he can utilize his speed and agility to rush the quarterback and cover receivers. Moore's commitment fills a need at outside linebacker for the Cougars, who are looking to rebuild their defense after a disappointing 2025 season. Houston's strong academic program and research opportunities also played a significant role in Moore's decision. Moore had previously committed to Texas A&M but decommitted in April to reopen his recruitment. He is expected to enroll at Houston in January 2027 and participate in spring practice.
