North Shore Mustangs Name New Coordinator
North Shore Mustangs have elevated assistant coach Michael Johnson to coordinator role, the program announced Thursday. Johnson, a four-year assistant, has developed talent on both sides of the ball. The Mustangs enter the 2026 season in 6A with a 12-12 record over the past two seasons. Johnson's new role is expected to boost recruiting efforts, particularly on the defensive side, where the Mustangs struggled in 2025. The move is seen as a competitive advantage, as Johnson's familiarity with the program and his relationships with players will help to solidify the team's identity. The Mustangs' summer camp is set to begin July 15, with Johnson leading the defensive unit. The team is looking to improve on last season's 5-5 record in district play.
