Malik Thomas Commits to Air Force Academy
Gunter Tigers running back Malik Thomas has committed to the Air Force Academy, according to sources close to the program. The Class of 2027 standout chose the Falcons over other Division I offers. Thomas, a 3A prospect, excels in the Tigers' run-heavy offense, where he has accumulated 1,200 yards and 15 touchdowns over the past two seasons. The 5-foot-10, 190-pound back is expected to contribute immediately in Air Force's triple-option scheme. Thomas cited the academy's strong academic program and the opportunity to play for a storied program as major factors in his decision. He had previously committed to Texas Tech but decommitted in April after a coaching change. Thomas is projected to be one of the top running backs in the Class of 2027, and his commitment is a significant addition to the Falcons' recruiting class.
