FridayNightPulse Training Tip: North Shore Mustangs' RB Power Drill

๐Ÿ“ North Shore MustangsยทSunday, July 26, 2026ยทFridayNightPulse Insider

The North Shore Mustangs' football program is known for its high-powered offense, and a key component of their running back success is the 'Power Through' drill. This intense workout targets the RB's strength, speed, and agility, translating directly to game performance. The drill consists of 3 sets of 10 reps: 1) A 10-yard sprint with a 20-pound weight vest, 2) A 5-yard dash through a pair of cones while maintaining a high knee lift, and 3) A 5-yard power run through a hole created by a blocking sled. Coaching cues include 'explosive acceleration' and 'drive through the contact.' This drill improves RBs' ability to break tackles and gain extra yards, a crucial skill in 6A competition.
