Finishing Moves: A DE Drill for North Shore Mustangs

๐Ÿ“ North Shore MustangsยทFriday, July 31, 2026ยทFridayNightPulse Insider

This summer, North Shore Mustangs defensive end players can dominate on the field with the 'Finisher' drill. Set up a 10-yard line with cones, with a 5-yard gap in the middle. Players start at the 10-yard line and sprint through the gap, then immediately cut to the left and right, mimicking the footwork of a pass rusher. Perform 3 sets of 10 reps, resting for 30 seconds between sets. Coaching cues: 'Keep your eyes on the target,' 'Drive through the gap,' and 'Finish with power.' This drill translates to game performance by improving agility, speed, and reaction time. By mastering the 'Finisher,' DE players will be better equipped to close on the quarterback and make game-changing plays. As the Mustangs prepare for the 6A season, this drill will be a key component of their training regimen.
